DeckLink Extreme connects to any deck in broadcast video, because it combines both 10 bit SDI and analog component video into a single compact low cost PCI card that only uses a single PCI slot!

Featuring the highest quality 10 bit uncompressed SDI video connections, DeckLink Extreme is the perfect solution for connecting to high end broadcast decks such as Digital Betacam�, D5, and D1. True 10 bit SDI capture retains all the subtle detail in your images, even during the heaviest multi generation rendering and video processing.

When connecting to decks such as Betacam SP�, DeckLink Extreme is the only low cost card to feature full analog component YUV video allowing crisp clean images that take full advantage of Betacam SP's 4:2:2 analog video path. Betacam SP uses digitally processed chroma time domain multiplexing and records color and luma on separate video heads for the highest quality on analog tape format.

DeckLink allows you to extend the life of this classic tape format in your facility with the ability to instantly connect to more advanced SDI based decks when required using the same hardware card! DeckLink Extreme is designed to capture the full analog signal from Betacam SP while retaining the deep quality of color and low analog noise that's the trademark of this tape format.

DeckLink Extreme's amazing analog support also extends to audio. The old classic audio engineering joke that "the pictures just enhance the soundtrack", is realized with DeckLink Extreme's full 24 bit based professional balanced analog audio on superbly robust XLR connections.

Built-in Professional Quality Audio

All DeckLink cards feature unbalanced AES digital audio out for incredible quality and sample accurate AV sync. DeckLink unbalanced AES audio outputs are also compatible with S/PDIF consumer audio, so you can use inexpensive HiFi equipment for audio monitoring. DeckLink Pro includes 4 AES audio outputs for a massive 8 channels of audio, great for mastering 8 channels to multi-track audio equipment. When connecting to analog decks, DeckLink SP and DeckLink Extreme models include analog XLR audio in and out connectors for direct analog deck connection. 8 channel SDI audio is supported, perfect for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound audio work.
