From recording vocals and instruments to soundtracking for film; the MOTU Audio Express is equipped with all the tools you need to achieve your goal. The dual combination XLR inputs are ideal for capturing vocal/instrument recordings, allowing you to connect microphones, guitars, keyboards and more. The 6-in/6-out configuration is perfect for studio work and live performances. Utilising cutting-edge technology and modern innovation, the MOTU Audio Express provides exceptional audio fidelity, capturing every nuance of your performance.
What sets the MOTU Audio Express apart from other audio interfaces the onboard 8-bs digital mixer which routes and mixes all six inputs to any output pair. This is highly useful for live performances, allowing you to easily route your various inputs and create a cohesive mix; with each input channel features its own dedicated volume knob. You can even control multiple mixes with visual feedback from the front panel LEDs and onboard metering. The precision Digital Trim controls are designed to provide adjustments in 1 dB increments, allowing you to fine-tune your levels before post-processing.
The Audio Express interface provides a wide variety of analog and digital connectivity, allowing you to hook up all your gear and make the Audio Express the main hub of your studio. You can monitor your levels or mix in privacy using the stereo headphone output (complete with independent volume control). It also features a stereo 24-bit/96kHz S/PDIF digital I/O which is useful for audio/visual work. The stereo analog inputs are comprised of balanced TRS 1/4-inch jacks with the same connects for the stereo main outputs (ideal for connecting to powered speakers).
Support both USB and Firewire connections, the MOTU Audio Express is compatible with both Mac and PC. It also features a DSP-driven phase lock engine complete with an internal clock source (producing ultra-low jitter) to ensure the best possible performance when used alongside external audio gear. If that wasn’t enough, the MOTU Audio Express also features DC coupled TRS outputs with support for plug and play operation, allowing you to get up and running in minutes.
Complete with Audio Express is MOTU’s custom workstation and a graphical mixer. CueMix FX provides graphical, on-screen control of the interface’s onboard audio mixer. Providing advanced control for all your inputs, CueMix FX provides up to four separate stereo mixes. It also features a range of useful tools including a built-in tuner, oscilloscope, FFT/spectrogram and phase analysis tools for added convenience.
Also included with the interface is a copy of AudioDesk – a powerful workstation designed for Mac and Windows systems. This versatile DAW (digital audio workstation) provides all the tools you need to get creating and recording straight away. You can record, edit, arrange, mix, process and master all your sounds with exceptional control. With multi-track recording and advanced automation and mixing capabilities, AudioDesk is the perfect starting point for any musician.
