The 4006A microphone utilises an omnidirectional polar pattern through DPA's astounding MMC4006 Omnidirectional Microphone Capsule, which is perfectly paired with their MMP-A Preamplifier. This powerful combination suitable for a huge array of recording applications thanks to the included Free-Field, Close-Mic'ing, and Diffuse-Field grids, as well as a foam windscreen. You can also take advantage of the 4006A's exceptional directional qualities and un-coloured sound in a stereo pair for applications such as recording orchestras and large performance situations.

The 4006A provides incredibly transparent sound capture with astounding detail and depth, and is capable of capturing up to a maximum SPL of 146dB before clipping occurs. The MMP-A preamp is also equipped with a 20dB switchable pad for output attenuation. Overall, DPA's 4006A microphone achieves incredibly natural and precise reproduction of the original sound source with an exceptionally linear frequency response from 10Hz up to 20kHz.

There's also the option to utilise one of DPA's other capsules with the preamplifiers, such as the MMC4011 Cardioid Capsule, the MMC2006 Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Capsule, the MMC2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Capsule, and the MMC4015 Wide Cardioid Capsule.
