The spirit of analog
Traversing familiar territory, Jun-6 V offers the simplicity of the onboard DCO and BBD chorus all in a convenient plug-in. Enhancing the authentic experience of this classic polyphonic synth, Arturia has included three different levels of analog voice dispersion. Subtle changes to the virtual internal parameters create a different character and response, much like ageing hardware will. From squeaky clean to rough around the edges or somewhere in the middle, the filter cut-off and VCA envelope attack will all be affected.
Just like the hardware counterpart, Jun-6 V encompasses the classic arpeggiator and makes it even easier to use. Three modes are included from Up, Up + Down and Down to help you interweave chords or melodies with hypnotic patterns on the fly. Simple and intuitive, this arpeggiator removes any complex parameters and menus in favour of highly-musical response suitable for any genre or application. Try coupling the arpeggiator with Jun-6 V's Chord mode to transform simple melodic patterns into full arrangements, complete with individually-assigned diatonic chord voicings.
Quintessential for this '80s synth, Jun-6 V perfectly emulates the simple twin filters of the '80s ancestor. Go for low-pass warmth with the beautiful -24dB/oct low-pass resonant filter or create tension and risers before explosive drops with the non-resonant HPF.
Almost as famous as the synthesizer it's utilised in, Jun-6 boasts the same BBD-driven chorus module. In one simple switch, enhance your sound with subtle stereo width and deliciously dynamic movement.
Built for a new era
A rebirth of a classic, Arturia Jun-6 V expands on this classic polysynth icon with extra modulation and FX to offer more versatility than ever all without compromising what made the original hardware so revered. Renowned for its simplicity, Jun-6 V maintains the same basic structure of meticulously-modelled DCOs, simple yet powerful twin filter setup, LFO, envelope and three-mode stereo chorus and tweaks it slightly to meet the expectations of modern musicians and producers.
Taking advantage of all the digital realm has to offer, Jun-6 V includes MIDI-controllable mod wheel, velocity and aftertouch controls, enabling changes in the DCO or VCF on-the-fly. You can also assign the velocity and aftertouch to a modulation destination for exciting dynamics with every touch of your keyboard.
Expanded modulation is highlighted with the inclusion of not one, but two multi-waveform LFOs and envelopes. The second ADSR envelope features two freely assignable destinations, the same story for LFO 2. Small upgrades, big difference, unaltered useability!
Opening the Advanced tab, you'll discover integrated effects inside Jun-6 V. A spacious reverb and vintage-inspired delay is included to help take the unmistakable sound of a Jun-6 V and add a sound design twist to it. Wherever ambience is needed in your pop chord progression, plucked lead trap lines or rhythmic complexity for arpeggios, the onboard delay and reverb are here to serve.
Polyphony to the masses
First released in 1982, the hardware predecessor to the Jun-6 V came into the market at a time during fierce competition for higher voice counts, more controls and more broad tonal options. Striking a delicate balance between ease of use and vivid sound design potential, the Jun-6 V put polyphonic luxury into the hands of the average musician.
Leaving a lasting impression on the synth design industry and musical world, a combination of intuitive layout, DCO tuning stability and deceptively complex tones were heralded as the driving factors behind its success. Undeniable in influence and simply stunning versatility, the hardware Jun-6 V can be heard in the glossy pop stylings of A-ha to the ethereal atmosphere of Vangelis, even being a key player in the emergence of Chicago house, Jun-6 V offers the same raw power in your music.
Powered by technology
Using proprietary modelling algorithms, the Jun-6 V can recreate the iconic hardware down to the component parts to create unrivalled realism and immersion. Unmatched in analog emulation, Jun-6 V is powered by TAE and Phi technologies. TAE offers component-level modelling to accurately present the characteristics and behaviour of the hardware, whilst Phi's state-of-the-art physical modelling brings the acoustic properties into the virtual world for hyper-realism. The result is truly a next-level sound that is indistinguishable from the original to add to your productions.
