Building on the success of the other NTG microphones, the NTG5 features a brand-new body design. The new and improved construction employs circular acoustic ports, replacing the linear slots found in conventional shotgun mics. This groundbreaking design is the product of months of intensive acoustic testing, incorporating design aspects from Rode’s TF5 condenser microphone.

The TF5 features a unique perforated acoustic vent, which led Rode to incorporate this feature onto the NTG5 microphone. The resulting sound is natural and uncoloured, providing stunning sonic clarity unmatched by other shotgun mics. The exceptional transparency and annular line tube technology ensures that the NTG5 will be the future industry standard for shotgun mics.

Get started straight out of the box. The NTG5 comes complete with a location recording pack to accompany the microphone. Included within the pack is a lightweight PG2-R pistol grip, perfect for point-and-shoot recording. The new ergonomic design of the lightweight handle ensures improved functionality and comfort. The cushioned grip features multiple cable mounting points with additional space for the PG2-R Pro Cable XLR Connector for added convenience. Also included within the recording kit is a windfur, windshield, the PG2-R pro cable and a microphone clip.

Featuring a built-in Rytocte Lyre suspension system, the Blimp 2 eliminates any handling noise for a clear and concise recording. The interior of the Blimp features a premium-quality Mogami audio cable which splits via a junction box to a flexible and thin cable inside of the Blimp. The sturdy and durable enclosure eliminates wind noise for an ultra-clear recording on location.

This helps to minimise any unwanted vibrations. You can attach the Blimp to any standard boom pole that possesses a 3/8-inch thread attachment on the base. The Blimp 2 also comes complete with a 10-year manufacturer warranty (no registration required).
