One of the first things you'll notice about the Casio PX S1000 is its sleek design. Professional grand pianos inspired the glossy panel and unibody case, which is why the PX S1000 will easily fit into any room, decor, or mood. When you power up the piano, the display really comes to life. Fitted with a unique active touch panel display, you can now see your controls come to light in one touch. And when not in use, the panel goes dark, so you can focus on performing without any visual distractions.
It's rare to find a digital piano that feels this good. The PX S1000 features Casio's newly designed, fully weighted Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard which delivers an authentic feel, while also being incredibly compact. The proprietary scaling system replicates the heavier hammers in the bass and lighters hammers in the treble, while the ebony and ivory key textures ensure confident playing in any climate. But a piano can't just feel good - it has to sound good. The stereo speaker system produces a beautifully clear sound towards both you and the audience. The PX S1000 was specially engineered to sound accurate even when facing a wall, placed on a table, or in an open performance space. Two subtle ports above the keys project the sound towards you, while the rear-facing drivers project towards your audience.
At the soul of the PX S1000 is a stunning stereo grand piano. To ensure this piano can transform your performance and include every nuance of detail, Casio have enabled you to control every aspect of the sound. String resonance exposes the harmonious relationships between vibrating strings, while damper resonance adds depth and richness. You will even hear the mechanical sounds of the dampers rising, keys being pressed, and the keys returning to their original position. To really finetune your sound, the PX S1000 includes hammer response and key-off simulation to deliver even finer detail and an overall more natural performance. Along with pianos, you'll also find electric pianos, organs, strings, vibraphone, harpsichord, and more.

Casio understands that technology plays a large part in education, and learning to play the piano is no exception! Now you can connect your smartphone or tablet to your piano via a USB cable to unlock a wealth of educational features. You can choose between the 60 included PDFs of sheet music on the Chordana Play for Piano app, or you can even add your own PDF files. When connected via USB, you can configure your single or triple pedal unit as a page turner, enabling you to concentrate on the performance. If you're looking to gain insight into the individual pieces and composers, then the app also has built-in descriptions listed from the PTNA (Piano Teachers' National Association).
For a more interactive approach, the Chordana Play for Piano app features MIDI files which enables you to play in a piano roll window. With 60 famous classical pieces to choose from, this library includes music which even beginners can enjoy listening to and perform. Change the tempo, transpose to an easier key, or even use the AB repeat function to master small parts of the song which you're struggling with. You can even take lessons using the on-screen keyboard and track your progress using a scoring system! And if that's not enough, you can import your own MIDI files so you can play along with your favourite music.
But the Chordana Play for Piano app isn't just for learning. When you connect your Casio piano, you can now use your smartphone or tablet to finetune a multitude of features. You can control main settings such as what voice you are using, metronome settings, and reverb settings quickly and efficiently. If you're really wanting to tweak your tone, then you can start to experiment with hammer response, string response, lid settings, layering options, split keyboard, recording settings, plus much more!
