Ultra-Compact Pico Series
Erica Synths have successfully managed to create a high-performance series of modules in an ultra-compact and affordable format. At only 3HP in width, the Pico Drums provides the same sound quality and versatility that you would typically need a collection of rather expensive modules to generate. Designed for Eurorack modular systems, the Erica Synths Pico module series is a huge leap in compact, powerful, and innovative modular synthesis.
Versatile CTRL Encoder
The Erica Synths Pico Drums is equipped with a powerful single control encoder at the top of its faceplate. Similar to some of the other modules in the Pico series, the CTRL encoder can be used to control all of the features of the Pico Drums:
- Sample Select: If the encoder is not lit, this means you are in the Sample Select mode. Rotating the encoder allows you to select your desired sample of the 64 stored within the Pico Drums. 6 LEDs below the CTRL encoder will indicate the selected sample in binary code
- Pitch Adjustment: If the encoder is light green, then you are in Pitch Adjustment mode. Rotate the encoder to set the pitch of your selected drum sample (DRUM1 or DRUM2 dependent on switch position). If you alter the pitch of the drum, but wish to return to the original pitch, simply rotate the encoder until it flashes red once. This indicates that you are at the original pitch setting
- Decay Adjustment: If the encoder is light red, then you are in Decay Adjustment mode. Rotate the encoder to select your desired decay time for the selected drum sample
- Volume Adjustment: If the encoder is light yellow, you are in Volume Adjustment mode. Rotate the encoder to set your desired volume for the selected drum sample. Returning to the original volume setting works the same way as it does in Pitch Adjustment mode
Save & Load Drum Settings
All of your configurations for pitch, decay, and volume can be saved for both drums in one of 6 slots of the Pico Drums' memory. These can later be instantly recalled and loaded ready for use in your performances or recordings with ease.
Load Your Own Samples
The Pico Drums comes pre-installed with 64 high quality drum samples. However, these are not the only samples you can use with the module. If you acquire an Erica Synths Pico Drum Programmer (available separately, not included with the Pico Drums module itself), you can upload your own samples to the module. These samples must be mono, with a 44.1kHz sample rate and 16-bit resolution. The programmer simply connects to the board of the Pico Drums, allowing you to connect the device and upload samples from the Erica Synths Google Chrome application.
Controls & I/Os
- CTRL: Illuminated encoder providing the main control for all features of the Pico Drums
- 6 x Indication LEDs: Indicate the drum selected in binary code. You can select one of 64 samples for each drum. The module comes with 64 pre-installed samples, but you can upload your own samples via the Erica Synths Pico Drums Programmer (available separately). LEDs also indicate load/save slots for your personalized module configuration
- DRUM1/DRUM2 Switch: Switches between the two drums enabling you to select your desired samples for each, and adjust parameters. When switching between drums, settings for non-active drums are automatically saved
- EXCL/IND: Switches between Exclusive or Independent modes. This defines how the two drums interact with each other when triggered simultaneously
- CV IN: CV input for controlling pitch, decay, volume, or sample select for the first drum
- TR1: Trigger input for the first drum. LED indicator below the input indicates the incoming trigger
- TR2: Trigger input for the second drum. LED indicator below the input indicates the incoming trigger
- OUT: Output for both of the mixed drums
