Key Features
The Strymon Deco Tape Saturation and Doubletracker is a stunning pedal that offers effects similar to old tape machines. Perform with warm, transparent overdrive and delay effects. Whilst the Deco's saturation can go from subtle to overdrive, its doubletracker offers a wide range of effects. From a tape like flange and chorus, to a slapback delay and tape echo, this model has got you covered. The pedals five control knobs feature two functions each, which can be accessed by holding down both bypass switches and then turning the knob you wish to adjust. The Deco also features an input for an expression pedal, giving you more control over the pedals function. A perfect addition to your pedalboard.

The Deco effects pedal produces vintage tape effects, similar to ones of tape machines. Create interesting and unique sounds. The pedal has been designed with a single input and stereo input, with just a flick of the jumper inside your pedal and a TRS splitter cable to plug left and right into the pedal. The Deco is also capable of being used with your studio setup, with its studio mode allowing it to be used with hotter input signals. It can be used with DAWs, mixer inserts, line level synths, and hot effect loops in guitar rigs.
This pedal’s saturation delivers overdrive-like effects, offering a boost in your tonal richness and volume. By using its saturation control, this pedal produces subtle tape saturation and compression to a transparent overdrive. Taking inspiration from old style tape machines, Strymon have made their tape saturation smooth and warm to recreate how old tape machines sounded. Perform dynamics with the touch sensitive and a harmonically rich low end.
This model comes with five control knobs and a three-way switch. Alongside the control knobs, there are also secondary controls that can be accessed by tapping and holding both bypass switches and then turning the controls. Its saturation control dials in the amount of saturation the drive has, whilst its second function is high trim that manipulates a shelving filter to tailor the high frequencies. With the blend control, you can mix the level of the two decks, alongside offering a double tracker boost/cut.
The switch under the blend offers three types of blends. Sum means that the decks are in phase, invert ensures that the lag deck is phase inverted, and bounce means that the lag tape is bouncing from left to right, creating a ping-pong effect. The lag time control sets the delay between the two tapes, with its second function offering an auto flange time, setting the seeping time for the press-hold auto flanger. The volume controls the output level of the reel-to-reel decks, alongside a low trim to control the high pass filter to tailor the low frequencies. Finally, the wobble control adds random speed modulation to the delay, whilst its second function is a wide stereo mode that generates a wide stereo image.
