Key Features
The PRS Special Semi Hollow is a guitar tone chameleon that's dripping with pure charisma. Classic PRS humbucking tone comes from its coil-splittable, 58/15 LT pickups, set in the bridge and neck positions. Combined with the noiseless single-coil sound of an exclusive PRS Narrowfield pickup, you've got 12 distinct configurations to play with, ensuring a world-class sound for any situation.
Featuring a carved, figured maple top, with a striking, single f-hole design, this PRS Special's semi-hollow construction doesn't just look the part. The resonant space in its mahogany body adds a depth of character to its sound, while the feedback issues that plague fully hollow designs are controlled. With top-of-the-range PRS hardware, and a hard case included as standard, the PRS Special Semi-hollow truly lives up to its name.

The pickup options on the PRS Special Semi-hollow are second to none. Its three pickup setup alone is enough to offer an incredible range of rich, singing tones. But the versatile switching options and carefully selected pickup models create a sonic palette that's both varied and vibrant.
The neck and bridge positions are filled by a pair of 58/15 LT (Low Turn) humbuckers. With fewer turns on each pole piece, they offer a more measured output, delivering startling clarity even through screaming distortion. Each humbucker has its own dedicated coil-tap mini-switch, putting true, spiky single-coil sweetness right at your fingertips.
The star of the show, however, is undoubtedly the PRS Narrowfield in the middle position. Its low-output humbucker design only reproduces sound from a tiny area of each string, bringing all the warmth and personality of a single-coil pickup, but without the hum and interference issues they're known for. Using the 5-way blade to blend this with the 58/15s creates a total of 12 exemplary tones, each with its own unmistakable individuality.
Semi-hollow bodies - an ideal middle ground. Have you always loved the traditional look and full sound of hollow body guitars? Have you been put off by the way they feed back at higher gain settings, even at low volume? Featuring an internal solid wooden block in the centre of the body, a semi-hollow guitar like the PRS Special Semi-hollow could be what you've been searching for.
The internal block gives the pickups a sturdier mounting point, significantly reducing the sympathetic vibrations that can cause uncontrollable and undesirable feedback in fully hollow models. It also simply takes up space within the guitar, leaving less air to transmit vibrations around inside the body. The result is a pleasing compromise - a broader, more natural guitar sound that's still usable with the gain and volume cranked.
It's what PRS's Core range is known for. No stone left unturned, no feature anything less than world-class. From the industry-leading, Phase III locking tuners, to the ever-reliable and perfectly poised Gen III tremolo bridge, the Special Semi-hollow comes locked and loaded with the best PRS has to offer.
The staple PRS mahogany body is matched with a carved, pattern mahogany neck that's been designed with comfort and playability specifically in mind. It's topped with a warm and elegant rosewood fingerboard, complete with those signature PRS bird inlays. The beautifully figured, maple top also features an ergonomic and eye-catching violin carve shape, for hour upon hour of fun, fatigue-free rehearsal and performance.
An instrument of this quality deserves the very best protection. That's why PRS take no chances, including a top quality hardshell case as standard. Your pride and joy will be completely safe from knock and scrapes, thanks to the case's durable, rock-solid outer shell and luxurious, padded interior. Its handy storage compartment is perfect for capos, trem arms, spare strings and other accessories you may need access to at a moment's notice, and when hurrying from gig to gig, a hard case provides peace of mind that money just can't buy.
