The addition of Jackson's compound radius, ebony fingerboard provides you with an incredibly comfortable playing feel, perfect for both demonic riffs and deadly chords. In order to accommodate Thomson's slaughtering riffs in destructive drop tunings, Mick and Seymour Duncan worked together to create a customised version of their iconic Blackout humbuckers. By tightening up the low-end and adding a little extra cut to the highs, without it being too harsh or scratchy, these custom pickups deliver an incredibly rich harmonic connect and a big sound across a wide frequency range. Its bridge pickup has been designed to accentuate deep, chunky, palm muting styles, while the neck pickup cleans up nicely for crystal clear tone that get more aggressive with an increase of gain.
This Jackson's body has been crafted from mahogany and topped with a sleek arctic white finish, completed with black binding. These together creates a sophisticated, yet dangerous, look that is further enhanced by its destructive tonal capabilities. Its mahogany delivers a beautifully warm tone with a somewhat soft character and offers an excellent balance of grind and bite for those times when an extra punch is needed.
Its neck features a one-piece through-body maple construction, completed with a scarf joint and reinforcement rods. This design enhances both the stiffness and stability, while guarding against temperature and humidity-induced wrapping. The maple also adds a stunning tone to the overall sound. It produces a round quality, adding a bright characteristic and an excellent amount of sustain. The addition of its ebony fingerboard helps to tighten the neck's tone, giving it a defined feel, excellent clarity, and a fast attack. When combined, they perfectly complement each other, offering a sparkling high-end, controlled bass response, and a snappy midrange.
