Tone dragged from the depths of darkness
Signature Jim Root sound. Unforgettable. Unmistakable. Distinctive. This is a Fender and Jim Root first, bringing you a passive but active circuitry design. The result - a sonic devil. Providing one of a kind retro-active pickups labelled the Daemonum for their crushing, hardcore attitude and brutal sonic nature. It's time to bring the noise.
For the first time ever, Fender bring you signature open-coil EMG active humbucking pickups. Giving you heaps of tonal flexibility and the freedom to play, your way. There's also one specific character Jim needed from these pickups, and that was to be heard in a live mix. And with a band as big as Slipknot, his pickups have to match that scintillating, explosive sound. So with a meticulous design, and three years in the making. This a tone that embodies everything Jim Root. A crushing, spine-tingling tone with one sole purpose - to cause sonic destruction.
Pure playability - effortless
How it should feel. Fender know you're big on playability, and they know it's imperative when selecting your next instrument. So this Fender Jazzmaster embodies everything about Jim's playing style and what he needs from his electric. Bringing you the platform you truly deserve when shredding, and the feel to accommodate Jim Root's lightning-fast pace, and molten metal riffs.
Calling all searing shredders. This is a Jazzmaster that was birthed to be in your hands. And if you're looking for precision, look no further. This is an electric that allows you to take complete control. Featuring a thin C-shaped neck profile that provides an ergonomic feel while giving you the platform you need to create face-melting solos and detuned, demonic riffs. So, if you like it heavy, enter the darkness and play an instrument that has an addictive, stage-ready feel, night after night. Endlessly effortless - nothing stands in your way with the Jazzmaster.
Peace of mind
You've got an iconic, offset Jazzmaster body. An instantly recognisable tone. A famed Fender feel. And style that's going to turn heads for decades to come. That's certainly something you want to protect. Fender knows your new sidekick is your sonic baby, and that it needs a safe place to rest when you're out on the rare occasion doing something unmusical. It also needs security when going from venue to venue, and the rehearsal room to the studio. So, to combat these potential problems. Fender have included a premium Black Tweed hardshell case with a plush red interior that features body-hugging contours to keep your Jazzmaster firmly in place. No need to worry - Fender's got your back.
Jazzmaster history - a true legend
First introduced at the 1958 NAMM Show with a great deal of chrome and controls, the Jazzmaster was originally designed for traditional jazz musicians. However, it soon found itself embraced by reverb-drenched surf guitarists in the '60s, lip-curling punks in the '70s, and legions of alt-indie from the late '80s onward.
Fender's first dual-circuit instrument - the Jazzmaster provided a new level of versatility. While the traditional wide and flat pickups produced a broad tonality, with less bite and a subtler attack than most single-coil pickups. A first choice among players worldwide, there is nothing that can come close to the natural comfort, remarkable tonal versatility, and distinct character the Jazzmaster offers.
