DISC Empress Effects Midibox Overview
The Empress Effects Midibox allows you to connect Empress Pedals equipped with a control port to Musical Instrument Digital Interface(MIDI). It converts the standard 5 pin MIDI cable to a simple guitar patch cable. One of the main reasons pedals use MIDI for is to sync to the beat, such as a tremolo or delay always being right on the beat, or syncing to exactly a triplet of the beat. The MIDI is compatible with The Empress Effects Tremolo 2 and Phaser, which are both available here at Gear4music.

The Empress Midibox performs a simple function. It allows MIDI signals to be processed by Empress pedals that have a compatible control port. The current-based MIDI protocol is incompatible with the voltage-based Empress control port. The Empress Midibox simply converts the signal from current to voltage. The Midibox does not convert a MIDI signal into an analog signal. The Midibox can't be used to output CV signals nor it can't receive MIDI signals from Empress pedals, it can only send MIDI signals to Empress pedals.
