Key Features
The Cort CMV 15 Combo Guitar amplifier is robust and expertly crafted - it achieves a glorious, vintage, tube inspired tone. Thanks to the tricks of modern technology, Cort have reinvented the tube circuit sound that was first installed into the amplifier in the 1930s and helped pave the way for generations of guitar music from the 1950s/60s onward.
These old-school harmonics are achieved with the help of Cort's longstanding collaborator Moollon, whose continuous innovation in the speaker field has helped to achieve the true voice of these historic tube amps. Both robust and reliable, the metal frame of the amp is made from aluminium, ensuring a highly durable product which is easy to handle - you can be sure this amp will stick with you wherever you go.

When it comes to power and tone, the three 12AX7 tubes within the preamp can come to define the sound of your set up. These tubes are revered for their high voltage gain and powerful yet rich overdriven tones. They provide input gain, equalizer, effect loop and phase inverts, which means you can reinterpret the sound which has defined rock guitar for decades to find your own voice.
Amplification in the 1960’s was subject to the boom of tube technology. Larger amps were used for concert sized stages, ranging from around 45 to 100 watts, while the smaller sized amps were revered for their compact and lightweight design (that was still certainly capable of making a noise - even from as low as 5 to 30 watts). In more recent times, smaller tube amps have vastly increased in popular demand for both performances and within the studio, thanks to the clean harmonics as well as other tube driven characteristics.
Time and attention to detail is a key component of finding the right sound, that's why Cort hand-wire the circuitry within this amp. A process usually only implemented for the bespoke, hand-wiring ensures a much higher stability in tone quality and is a rare find from a mass production model. The wiring guarantees ultimate stability from the high voltage tube circuits, providing - by hand - a flawless performance.
A highly durable aluminium chassis provides a sturdy product designed for the long-term. The cabinet itself is constructed from birch plywood wrapped in water and dust resistant tolex. This amplifier is designed to survive all the trials of life on the road - be it gigging, regular rehearsal or studio time. With the all black design combined with minimalist gold edges and Cort logo underneath the three ivory racing stripes, this cab yields a classically simple visual aesthetic that will fit in on any stage.
