Designed by the legendary drum designer John Good and DW, HVX is a new way to put together wood plies. With plies aligned horizontally, vertically and straight - hence the name - the drums offer a punchy fundamental and great projection. Perfect for live use, these drums can reach the back of the room no problem at all.
Maple
Maple is traditionally used in high quality drums. It is used for its powerful sound as well as for the pristine and polished look that maple brings. Maple contains slightly boosted lows with high frequencies to make it work in almost any musical genre. Drums made entirely of maple will create a more even sound and a warmer tone.
Wooden Hoops
Wooden hoops help the snare drum create a warmer and rounder sound than its metal counterparts. They are very rigid and because of this they allow tuning to be more even and stable. They are also very durable and avoid damages such as dents, cracks and splinters after years of use.
MAG throw-off
The Performance Series now comes with the all-new MAG™ throw-off in a chrome finish. A simple design, the MAG™ is a workhorse drop throw-off with easy to adjust horizontal tension. Its name comes from a magnet that's built into the body of the throw-off. When the handle is lifted into the upright position it can not be released. When it finally releases it will throw the strainer completely off the head to avoid any strainer buzz.
