Inside the Babyface lives the latest 192 kHz AD and DA converters, two reference class mic preamps, and SteadyClock.

There's also the new TotalMix FX, which includes a host of improvements over TotalMix and a 3-band parametric EQ, plus added echo and reverb... all this with near zero latency.

The Babyface uses RME's Hammerfall USB audio core, a milestone in low latency audio interfaces, to give you an outstanding performance and top sound in an ultra-portable, carefully-designed enclosure.

Analog I/Os

RME's analog circuit design is used with the balanced XLR I/Os and the TRS phones outputs, guaranteeing outstanding noise and distortion values. The AD/DA converters provide sample rates of up to 192 kHz. The SteadyClock function reduces jitters, promising pristine sound quality, even when clocking into an external digital source.

High-end mic preamps

Both digitally controlled mic preamps provide individually-switchable 48v phantom power. 60dB of gain is adjustable in steps of 3dB, there is exceptional EIN performance even at low amplification settings, and low THD+N values, meaning the preamps can surpass those of extremely high-end devices.

Digital I/Os

This incredible feature set includes an optical TOSLINK I/O. When used with an ADAT converter, the Babyface provides an unbeleivable amount of 10 analog and 12 output channels.

MIDI, Phones and Instrument Outputs

The integreated outputs make the Babyface a creative audio system of universal usability, you're able to take it wherever you like. Directly plug in your guitar or other instruments and recording becomes a breeze, there's no other hardware required. The additional headphone output delivers the full sonic experience of up to 192 kHz and is available both on the unit and the optional breakout cable.

Precise Control

Controls include one main knob and two single buttons, giving Babyface an elegant design and making it the perfect desktop control for all typical studio tasks. The LED bar displays serve as level and gain meters, visually supporting the precise control of all inputs, outputs and headphone levels directly at the interface.
