With just a bass and a couple of leads, you are able to plug this into anything. A useful box that can act as its own rig or used to modify the tone of another amp. You can also plug directly into a PA with its own speaker emulation active, giving rich and natural tones beyond what you would expect. Although that shouldn't limit the use of the emulated speaker out.
In a PA you can use it to get really nice tones but loaded into a cab with an actual speaker, you can add more tonal diversity. Not forgetting this is just as useful at home, in the studio, at a pub gig, or on tour. It's resourceful, adaptable, and reliable - conquering its competition. It's a great main rig or a convenient backup, it's solid and reliable...it's actually hard thinking of a reason not to buy this.
The effects loop is positioned before the onboard effects and after the SansAmp section. Keeping the modulation effects out of the way, you keep the signal cleaner. great for adding drive or fuzz - a massive improvement over the original.
Well you have both at your feet, so don't worry about it! One channel favouring that classic British mid heavy flavour with the 'Cali' variant giving you a thick, rich '70s vibe. Destroying the blonde stereotype, the blonde channel. It has a multifaceted, complex character with great clarity. With the drive to the left, you have sparkly cleans that sound glassy with a touch of bite. At the other end of the spectrum, you are greeted with a strong tweed personality that gets gnarly, rich and harmonically drenched.
The third gain stage is a boost, giving an extra 12dB of gain and a switchable pre/post button. In the 'pre' position you add extra gain, pushing your signal through those heavy and saturated boundaries that are almost destructive. Switching the boost to 'post' in the signal chain will add volume to solos, making sure you're heard. Holding the boost down gives you access to the tuner. It helps you tune and mutes your signal - another tick on a feature set that's as long as your arm
