For 2015, the Custom Shop proudly introduced an expanded selection of premium ''relic'' finishes that have been designed to replicate the worn-in vibe of a genuine vintage instrument. The Relic finish delivers authentic worn-in wear of a guitar that has experienced many years of regular use. Each one is specially devised to capture the authenticity of original-era Fender, with unparalleled breathability and resonance.
This Custom Shop 1959 Journeyman Relic P-Bass is equipped with a Custom Shop '59 single-coil pickup with a chrome cover, positioned in just the right spot to produce the authentic and formidable Precision Bass tone. Other premium features include a gold anodized aluminium pickguard, authentic reproduction 2-saddle bridge with chrome cover, American Vintage tuners and a highly worn Heavy Relic treatment on the back of the carefully sculpted Maple neck. This 1959 Journeyman Relic is complete with a faded three-colour sunburst finish and nitrocellulose lacquer, helping to impart the appearance of years of aging and use without the need for actual wear and tear. Also included is a brown textured vinyl hardshell case with gold interior.
