Mahogany Body

The mahogany body creates a warm and rich tone with excellent depth. It also offers durability and a tone which will mature over the years, for a long lasting investment. Mahogany has distinct tonal characteristics, for a full and deep sound with plenty of bite. The resonant tone makes it an ideal companion for punchy rock music, and metal alike.

Solid & Reliable Hardware

The Dean Z 79 includes Grover tuners and a reliable tune-o-matic bridge to give gig-worthy stability and sustain. The speed knobs are not only visually attractive, but they offer easy adjustments to volume and tone when performing.

The Dean Z

One of the first models introduced by Dean in 1977 were the Z's, they were designed with the ultimate tone, sustain, and playability in mind. The Z models are equipped with dramatic string angles at the bridge and nut, and a string thru body design.

Smooth, Comfortable Neck

The Dean Z 79 guitar has a large, V-shaped headstock which is designed to increase string angles and string length which contributes to the overall sustain. The mahogany, V shaped neck profile allows faster playing and is designed to it into some guitarist's hands more comfortably. The neck is coupled with an pau ferro fingerboard for enhanced articulation and attack which extends the tonal characteristics of the mahogany
