The H-401M features a mahogany body with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fingerboard to deliver an incredibly smooth play, perfect for rock and metal. The mahogany body provides a soft, warm tone with plenty of depth, producing grind and bite where needed to keep everything balanced. Its maple neck adds tightness and cut to brighten up the sound, whilst the rosewood fingerboard smooths out the tone to add extra sweetness and warmth. The ESP guitar’s body, neck, and fingerboard produces and appealing high end with plenty of sparkle and sizzle, a thick and firm low end that sounds full, and an open midrange with a snappy attack.
The ESP LTD guitar is equipped with a jazz neck humbucker and a custom 5 bridge humbucker, delivering loud, bright tones that can remain clear even under extreme distortion. The jazz neck offers a vintage-output that is extremely versatile, producing a glassy treble response with a tight, full bass. The custom 5 humbucker offers a high output tone with an even bass and treble response, making it perfect for a wide range of musical styles.
Incorporating a fixed bridge with string-thru body construction, the LTD H-401M provides an improved tonality and sustain, allowing the guitars notes to project beautifully. This is achieved by transferring vibrations and resonance from the strings to the body as it goes over the hardtail bridge and passes through the guitar.
