This compact unit is a powerful polyphonic quad octave generator that offers unique controls for creating inspiring symphonic sounds. Operating on the Analog Devices Sharc platform, players can dial in any combination of four separate octaves including -2, -1, +1, and +2, as well as craft many different complex sounds and textures with crystal clear and immediate octave tracking. Equipped with three onboard presets, the Luminary allows users to save their sounds, and also use live mode for live performances.
Control Options
The Luminary Quad Octave Generator features a basic layout, along with control options for the level of each octave, dry/wet, attack, filter and flutter. The Dry/Wet control allows players to explore the ground between minimum and 12 o’clock to keep the octave signal lower than your dry signal for subtleness, while dialing between 12 o’clock and maximum keeps the dry signal lower than unity for a superb octave sound. When using the Attack control, players can choose how fast the octaves bloom after the initial attack, and allow the octaves to swell in gradually at a higher attack setting. The Filter knob controls the cutoff of a low-pass filter on the octave signals and also increases an envelope type effect when used at higher settings. Finally, the Flutter control knob delivers a chorus effect that can be applied to the octaves for added texture.
Rugged Design
As well as offering a full host of modulation sounds, the Luminary Quad Octave Generator comes complete in a durable diecast enclosure that is built for the road. This roadworthy chassis is decorated with a sand pebble texture with black and red ink, featuring original artwork of a dystopian dictator’s watchful eye. Top mounted jacks are also included, maximising space on pedalboards, and allowing similar pedals to sit alongside each other.
