The Les Paul has become one of the most well-known guitars since it first made its debut back in the 40s. Its iconic performance and tonal capabilities have found its way into the hands of many notable musicians, including Slash, Pete Townsend, Bob Marley, and Jimmy Page.
This Les Paul Classic takes you back to its early days, providing you with a 60s construction and performance for a truly iconic Gibson experience. Its body is crafted from mahogany and topped with maple, giving you the same sweet, warm tonal characters as classic Les Pauls.
Along with its classic tonal character, the Gibson Les Paul features a variety of appointments to ensure you receive an incredibly comfortable playing experience. Its body features their 9-hole weight relief, keeping the overall weight of the Les Paul down to reduce the strain on your shoulders. You can play all night long and not feel the need to put it down.
Its neck features Gibson's classic slim taper profile, which lets your hand naturally cup the neck in comfort. You can slide across the entire neck with ease. Couple that with the body's cutaway design and you have easy access to the entire fingerboard. The frets have also been cryogenically frozen, increasing their durability for a playing feel that will last you a lifetime.
Beneath that classic exterior lies incredible versatility that any modern musician will love. Its twin BurstBucker 61 humbuckers feature that iconic Zebra aesthetic and offers a classic PAF-style sound. You can play anything on these versatile pickups and still find more projection and dynamics on tap.
Even with the BurstBucker's incredible tonal capabilities, the Les Paul Classic is equipped with push/pull volume and tone controls for extra sonic possibilities. Two coil-taps let you switch the pickups between crunchy humbuckers and sweet single-coil tones, expanding the Les Paul from three to eight distinct sounds. That's even before you get to adjusting the tone controls.
If that's not enough to wet your tonal apatite, then the additional phase push/pull will. Engaging this control will set the neck pickup out of phase, not only changing the sound of the neck pickup but further expanding the Gibson's tonal capabilities. Especially if you use it alongside the coil-taps. That's now 13 distinct sounds on hand.
Despite all this, the Les Paul still has more to offer. Its last push/pull control lets the bridge pickup bypass its volume and tone control completely, giving you max tone and volume. While this is ideal for delivering powerful lead lines, you can also use it to set up a 'preset' which you can 'access' by simply disengaging the bypass.
For added reliability and stability, the Gibson is fitted with an ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge and Grover tuners. While tune-o-matics offer excellent string stability and quick string changes, they also let you find the perfect action and intonation for your playing style. Simply adjust its mounting rods to set the perfect height and screw in or out the saddles to set the intonation.
Grover's Rotomatic tuners are as stable as they are easy to use. Grover are a leading manufacture in tuners, many of which are used on top-end guitars. This level of design is present in the Rotomatics, offering a tuner that eliminates backlash and slippage to keep your guitar in tune - no matter the level of playing.
