With 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple shells, you get vibrant, warm tones with every stroke. Combined with the 30-degree bearing edges, the Renown Maple drums deliver fat vintage tones and a deep low-frequency thump. Perfect if you're a vintage tone extraordinaire. Gretsch's 302 hoops offer a lighter weight than die-cast hoops with reduced rigidity, whilst maintaining the clear and focused sound that die-cast hoops offer. Finished with Remo drumheads, you can rely on the Renown Maple to perform with style, right out of the box.
In addition to the Gretsch Renown Shell Pack you will also receive a set of Ahead Armor cases. Each case features a weather resistant and waterproof 600 denier exterior, premium-grade sherpa fleece lining and the patented DynaZip zipping system. The perfect bundle for the gigging musician.

The Renown drums feature the classic 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple shells, with 30-degree bearing edges and the same '302' hoops used on the Brooklyn and Broadkaster series drums. The result is a warm, refined sound that can handle any style of music, from classic to modern. Live or in the studio.
The 30-degree vintage has been in use since the 1930's and features a round-over profile that's thicker than the typical bearing edge, giving you greater drumhead contact with the shell. They produce a punchier, rounder tone with more focused resonance. Accompanied by '302' hoops which provide further clarity and focused tone, while being lighter weight than typical die-cast hoops so the drums can resonate more freely.

Gretsch formula shells are a unique combination of North American maple with another, softer maple species. When combined, the woods provide a stunning tonal balance with a beautiful warmth and resonance. The 7-ply construction of the Renown Maple drums further enhances the tone, whilst offering an extremely powerful projection, letting the drums shine through any mix or recording. The high-quality maple shells are complemented by durable chrome hardware, contributing towards shell rigidity and strength without compromising looks or aesthetics.

Each case features a unique and patented TruForm™ design. This innovative design corresponds to the ''true'' shape of the drum plus its mounting hardware and the universal teardrop shape allows a much snugger fit. Complete with a DynaZip™ zipping system and DX-Core™ construction, the Ahead Armor cases provide superior protection. The plush interior is complemented by the strength and durability of a weather resistant and waterproof, 600 denier polyester exterior with a double stitch for added strength.
